in my search towards off-camera lighting:: i've run into the age-old newb question: ST-E2 or pocket wizards?
it seems like ST-E2's are kinda more user friendly for wedding photogs; who need to be able to adapt to lighting situations a lot faster?
comments anyone?

I just read something by scott roberts that talk about the benifits of the ST-E2s.
I've seen a wedding photographer using pocket wizards before and they were catching some strange signal and were firing at random. It was pretty annoying.
Erm from my experience of asking that newbie question I've had several suggestions not to get it. Some say it works great but expect a lot of misfiring if you do get it.
I personally perfer PWs. =)
um... I would say ST-E2 after seeing bob put it to use. In terms of wedding photography, having the ETTL is super beneficial and how often are you going to have a flash soooo far that you lose infra-red..? If you asked me before this weekend, I would have said PWs hands down, but I think in terms of shooting on the go, as a wedding photog, ST-E2.
Also, if you end up using multiple flashes, you'll need a PW for each one, and have to set them all up individually since it's all manual...
I got a long thought process so give me a call :]
make money first. then buy pocket wizards. st-e2 only costs $150 used. if you start actually making money with the flashes, then upgrade.
i always need assistants, but i don't have any photo friends in nj =(. i use 580exII's.
umbrellas and flip-it diffusers. manfrotto lightstands.
so xanga always emails me with my subscriptions, and i read through all your posts but theyre all camera related.. like in a different language! i remember a while back it was all guitar language.. haha im gonna revive xanga duncan!
duncan! hello! i missed you~!
i hope you're doing well..
haha, and you're right! now that i think about it, i think i wrote something similar awhile ago. hah, i guess it just shows that i haven't changed much.
hey duncan, sorry for such late respond. believe it or not, but i do not have any flash. my set up contains reflectors and one alien bee 800. we're in the same shoe! right now im saving for the canon speedlite 580 & 2pw's. sorry im not help =X
