it’s gon be another wedding this saturday, july 7th with the mr. kennykim.com
hopefully i should have my mbp by then; i’m pretty much fed up with my dell- i got so fed up that i ctrl+alt+del’ed and started closing down a bunch of processes that were on the top of the mem usage list. lol! too bad i closed one too many programs and i had to force reboot my machine. lol-

i remember the days when i would overclock my machine, and i’d go into the registry and start mucking about with registry keys and what not- resulting in a screw up of the OS and subsequently had to reinstall windows =p oh the good old days.
oh yeah- and overclocking didn’t work out too well either, since i skimped on cooling and ended up having to resort to ‘ghetto cooling’- opening up the case and pointing a desk fan at the CPU and stuff. yeah- i’m just that good.

pictures of taste should be up soon; depending on when i get that mbp- i refuse to run showit on my dell. lol; wait- let me rephrase that, my dell refuses to run showit. hahaha

couldn’t find my two batteries for my camera!
and then i remembered; what was the last thing i did with them?

i was testing to see if my old 300D was still working; before i gave it to sean lee. CRAP! lol. i left them in the camera! agh! i’m such an idiot.

i’m now battery-less; and taste of chicago is tomorrow.
what to do what to do!

the crappy thing; is-
i told jimmy to go ahead and buy new batteries for my old 300D, and i’d reimburse him because having spare batteries isn’t a bad idea anyways. now he’s going to have 2 sets of batteries (4 batteries) with him in japan, and i’m going to have to go and buy two more. 6 batteries? what the heck am i going to do with four spare batteries? this is stupid. lol what a waste of moneya;lkdsjf;lakjdsf;ldkj

i just lost my desktop external HDD that i’ve used for backup since highschool.
highschool pictures, family pictures, my first shots as a photog, highschool videos, applications and the works;

crap-

i just took a look at the external integrity of the HDD and it looks like there’re dents and scratches like it’s been dropped.
when i turn on the HDD i can hear the whirring of the HD elements starting up; then
‘click’ whirrr
‘click’ whirr

it sounds like the drive head is broken- or some physical damage to the HDD like that.

i dont’ know when/how this happened. crap!

i have a portable usb powered external HDD that i bring to shoots; but the desk HDD was my big mothership. oh mannn

i think i’ll write a bit about david lai because i’m at work; and i love to be productive- at work. heh.
anyhow, i met davidlai because he stalked me on facebook, or something like that; sometime during first semester. no; wait, i don’t think that makes sense- i only got my gear at the end of first semester. either way- he started to stalk me; that creepo. but i love him for it. davidlai had just gotten into photography too, and was so passionate about it. davidlai had contacted me (stalked me) because he was adamant about getting IlliniPhotographers back up and running. IlliniPhotographers was a RSO that had died down, and davidlai had gone through the pains to track down the old president to get the go-ahead to revive the club.

davidlai eventually got IlliniPhotographers back up and running (after having to bug, and track down alexroy, andrewyau, and me; who were all, mind you, very very bad a replying. haha). davidlai also currently works for DailyIllini as a photojournalist.

it’s been a pleasure sitting around the RSO office at the union discussing pressing issues, such as; lighting, who has a sexier L lens, and such; and also sharing ideas, techniques in photography, and experiences regarding shooting events.

davidlai is one of the photographers that i’ve had the pleasure of ‘growing up’ with in our love for photography. keep an eye out for more of his work!
