bumped into Gordon Yang (treasurer for TIA) during spring break and found out that TIA was hosting the Miss Asian UIUC Pageant tonight; offered to shoot for him
-i spent everyday with gordon last summer, as we had ECE 205/206 together- crazy times

i was pretty trigger happy today cos i was excited to abuse the write speed and 5fps? of the 30D
i think i shot 800+ pictures. lol. kinda over kill =

but dance2xs was there and i’m always trigger happy for them.
i heard they’re performing Sat night at Urbanite- need to find out more info! their dancing is hizzawt @_@!!

i’ll upload tomorrow- lightroom is currently exporting 100 or so pictures.
my computer is officially dying. it can’t handle this workload. lol

my bicycle is in the shop- thus… i was left to trek around campus on foot. twas not fun =(

it was actually pretty hard because i set out at around 6pm and i was constantly watching the sun set- it felt like i only had about a 30min time window before the sun went too low

sigh- i haven’t shot for a while. junxed up a lot of images *scrunches face*

Flower Photo Tips

Lighting

Having the sun behind the photographer gives full
light on the subject but can washout the colours if too intense. High
shadows are also created between 10am and 2pm. You don?t have to
eliminate them but be aware of them. Use the shadows to your advantage.
Flash can be used in deep shadow or an umbrella of cloth screen can be
held up to reduce the sun if colours are washed out.

Professionals
prefer early morning or late afternoon for photo shoots to take
advantage of the best light for their images. Evening light gives
colour shifts, increasing the reds and oranges towards sunset. The
early morning hours, an hour or so after sunrise, seem to enhance the
blues and purples.

Shooting
into the sun with the flower blocking all or part of the light gives
unique images and fill flash can erase shadows. This tip is also useful
when phtographing portraits. The eyes are not squinting when looking
away from the brightness and the fill flash provides light on the face… [more at bbc.org]

whew- last week was mad crazy. mad… mad crazy
yes- it did feel like finals week- and now it feels like… i’m not sure. fun? =)

i’m actually in the OR (operations research) lab at the transportation building with HyunKyu cos we’re studious kids.

so my summer is pretty much all up in the air-
-i didn’t get the internship that i was waiting on
-because i was expecting to get an internship for the summer, i didn’t buy plane tickets home
so i’ll be on campus- doing… pretty much.. i-have-no-idea-what. lol. summer smallgroups, here i come =)

my sister is graduating this june2nd so i’ll be heading up … down? to knox college for the first time (despite the many times that she’s visited me at the UofI =p mah bad. it’ll be fun photographing her graduation. family pictures are always a fun thing.

i really dont know why i’m in industrial engineering. i only applied into this college because i thought it was:
1) one of the easier depts to get into
2) all i wanted was to graduate with an ‘engineering’ degree, and banking on that to get me a job later on

i believe that my decision to go into engineering was something derived from the flesh, and now i am reaping the consequences of those plans; but God is good, and i don’t doubt his faithfulness in my life- and all the mistakes and bad decisions i’ve made in my life.
