  • peter suh is my hero…

    i really really would have liked if peter suh (pete-suh; pizzuh; pizza) had come to UofI- it would have been the bombdiggidty… hands down

    but its awesome that he made it into NU- and… apparently he’s wreaking havoc with his smooth moves and playing those girls hot and cold [nuh ahni yah; quote X-men]

    anyhow

    enjoy =)

    work, O full throttle! wake me up! =

    [you know you've had too much caffeine when your full throttle isn't kicking in after drinking half a can]
    uh oh

    endedit..

    mundane…

    i feel like my photography is missing a passion;
    it just seems so…. cliche, overdone- boring

    i think i need to take my eye away from the lens, and look at the world with both eyes open again.

  • whispers::

    and it slips through-
    ephemeral; fleeting,
    just a whisper of what was,
    but with that same breath- carried away

    and when apathy wants to take its course;
    to desire to find refuge in the things which feed your heart-
    and things in life seem so uncertain-

    there’s that prompting in the spirit
    that God is good

    everlasting, never failing

    “for
    i am sure that neither life nor death, nor angels nor rulers, nor
    things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth,
    nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate me from the
    love of God, in Christ Jesus my Lord.”

    edit:: my heart hurts </3

    oh man oh man oh man- why =(

    so, somehow AdobeLightroom auto downloaded a patch and it expires on Feb 28th. =(

    now they’re charging $199 as an ‘introductory special offer’
    man, i can’t afford that; i’m already broke from the equipment itself. now this?

    mmm- i knew they were going to do this tho. introduce it, make us love it; and now they can charge exorbent prices for it and i’m left software-less and helpless =(

    i still have Adobe CS2 with AdobeBridge and AdobeRAW- but now i’m going to have to relearn 3 months worth of postprocessing techniques =(

    *sigh*

  • In Chicago

    i had an interview with Medline Industries on friday for a summer 2007 internship, and boy was it an adventure::

    i was going to try find a ride up to the facility, which is in waukegan, but alas- the snow kicks in and driving is outta the picture.
    the night before my scheduled departure, i scramble for some Amtrak tickets- just in time to get the last seat on the incoming Champaign-> Chicago train at 6:10am [much thanks to joanne kim whom i called at 5:30am to drive me to the station]

    however- there’s a dilemma- since i bought my tickets so late, all the outgoing Amtrak trains are full and i have no way back to Chambana- w00t? [i think so] =)
    [i ended up getting the IlliniExpress back to chambana from Union Station- which is another story in itself]

    so my trip consisted of:
    5:00am wakeup
    6:10am Amtrak depart Chambana
    9:00am Amtrak arrive Chicago Union Station

    - free time? -

    11:35am Metra NorthLine depart Chicago Ogilvie (which was interesting to try to find- for a fob who’s never been in downtown Chicago alone before)
    12:50pm arrive Waukegan
    Cab to the Medline Facility

    the interview went pretty well- i think. i was pretty tired by the time i got there, considering that i slept about 4 hours each night during the week, and that 5:00am morning wasn’t too hot either.

    i got a pretty interesting question from the VP of the department that i’m interviewing for::

    “i’m going to ask you a problem solving question- i want to hear your thoughts as you work through the problem-

    ‘you have a 10lb bowling ball on a boat at the deepest part of the pacific ocean; the mariana trench. if you drop the bowling ball into the water, how long does it take to reach the bottom?’”

    yeah- that was a fun one =D

    anyhow- apart from that, and also a test which they gave me at the end of the interview, i’d say it went pretty well =P

    getting back was crazy tho.
    that’s pretty much a whole other story that i’m too tired to write out- lets just say i got back to chambana at 12:0am. what a long day

    and now the best part of the post::

    foto.friday:: in chicago

  • do not be anxious…

    edit::

    current status: stoked on caffeine
    current emotion: elated

    so i just found out that my lab is canceled later today, and so was a hwk assignment.
    now i just need to figure out how to get back from chicago after my interview ^_^

    i bought an Amtrak ticket to get to chicago-union station, and a metra ticket to get me to wauekegan- i’ll make it to my interview on time (with a lot of time to spare- i’ll bring my photo gear with me. it’s going to be a field day tomorrow)

    the problem is… i waited too long so now all the amtrak trains are sold out for the return trip. i dont know how to get back to champaign. i may be sleeping in the station on friday night…. if thats possible?

    prayer please oO;;

    endedit::

    Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.
    Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can
    understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in
    Christ Jesus.
